Laddie by Gene Stratton-Porter
Yaaaaaah! I finished Laddie, and I loved it. For those of you that are reading it this month for our book club I know it seems like it takes a while for the story it get going, but hang in there, don't give up, it is so worth it. For me I think it took until about Sally's wedding until it picked up and then I couldn't put it down. This is my favorite book we have read so far (and I love Pride and Prejudice so that tells you how much I enjoyed it.) I am really looking forward to discussing this book because there are so many lessons to learn from it, everything from statesmanship and education to family unity and faith in God. I also just feel in love with all of the characters. I loved the parents, and the great examples they were, I loved Laddie and what an outstanding man he was, I loved Little Sister and her faith in God, I loved all of the brothers and sisters and how they took care of each other. I can't wait to read it to my kids. So, if you haven't read it, then read it, if you are reading it and are stuck, keep going you'll be glad you did.
If you've read it leave us a comment and tell us what you thought. I would love to know.
